Our Story
It was in 1993 that Tracy Lowy first identified a gap in the market for modern, luxury serviced apartments – a hotel alternative that combined the luxury and services of a hotel with the privacy and space of home.
Fountains was one of the first modern luxury serviced apartment blocks to open in London. Featuring work by influential British furniture designers, such as Tom Dixon and Mark Brazier-Jones, it created a buzz and was featured in magazines and broadsheets across the globe.
Following the success of Fountains, a site in Mayfair was identifed: No.5 Maddox
Street, the perfect location to develop the Living Rooms brand. Tracy Lowy commissioned Meath Baker Design to create unique and stylish interiors, providing guests with a chic sanctuary of calm right in the heart of London’s energy and creativity. With a concierge service that competes with those of London’s top hotels, No.5 Maddox Street is known among its clientele as a place where one can live, work, eat, sleep, relax and entertain with complete freedom.
In 2008, Living Rooms took over Europa House Apartments from the parent company, and carried out a full refurbishment. The apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchen,
offer home-from-home freedom, discretion and a 24-hour telephone concierge
service, making it the perfect solution for people visiting London. The accommodation is extremely spacious, stylish and comfortable, and the large enclosed private gardens beautifully kept.
