If you've recently found yourself squished on the tube between a sweaty businessman and a baffled, suitcase-dragging tourist, then you'll know that summer has officially come to London. That means we're now literally counting the days until The Laslett opens (yes, we do have a homemade countdown pinned to the office wall, what of it?) and things are getting a whole lot more exciting/stressful/downright frantic - depending on who you ask.
The big news this week is that we have officially opened reservations, and the bookings have already started coming through - so the pressure's on to get everything looking less like a building site, and more like a luxury hotel.
Fortunately for our future guests, the hotel itself is really starting to take place now. The walls are being painted in preparation for all that artwork we've been hoarding, and the Library and 'Shop' on the ground floor are starting to feel much more real now than they did a few months ago when The Laslett was just a gutted Victorian house.
Below is a little selection of the photos we've been taking around the hotel lately - and if photos of tools and empty buildings are your thing, you might as well check us out on Instagram @thelaslett (N.B. - we do also offer a selection of non-builder related images).
If all this excitement wasn't enough, The Laslett has also appeared in several major British publications over the recent weeks, starting with a feature in House & Garden last month. Now, we're delighted to say that we're also in the July issues of Condé Nast Traveller, Elle Decoration UK and Wallpaper. News is spreading quickly, and we're so pleased, because we really do think The Laslett is going to be pretty good - not that we're in any way biased, of course.
If you want to stay up to date with everything we're doing, including all the great local people and business we've been working with, drop by on Instagram or Twitter (or both, if you're really keen).
Here's looking at our first summer at The Laslett!
